Hermès Chaine d’Ancre bag

Everyone knows the Hermès BKC Trio – The Birkin, Kelly & Constance, the creme de la creme of luxury handbags. If you love designer handbags then you probably know and own lesser known yet eqully beautily crafted Hermès bags like Lindy, Herbag, Picotin, Garden Party and the “Entry level” favorite Evelyne.

I was recently browsing the Hermès US website and came across the stunning Chaine d’Ancre bag. Designed by Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski for Hermès Spring 2020 Collection, the bag made its debut in September 2019 Runway Show. Most items seen on runway takes a while to get to Hermès stores, but it’s finally here!

The story behind Hermès Chaine d’Ancre bag:

As per the official website:

“An innovative signature object for 2020, the Chaine d’Ancre cabas bag is a feat of expert craftsmanship. Made of sixteen chain links cut from two pieces of leather joined together in a central seam, it twists and transforms the Chaine d’Ancre link – a Hermès signature – and affixes it to the base to leave an imprint on the sand. A silk pouch reinterpreting the motifs of the Manufacture de Boucleries zoom scarf, adds a graphic touch to the inside. With the promise of sophisticated elegance, this bag marks the arrival of a bright summer!”

I think the Hermès Chaine d’Ancre is a beautiful summer bag, and would be a timeless piece in any closet. The chic design of this bag will instantly elevate any of your casual or dressy looks. I highly recommend this bag, especially if you live in a country with warmer weather most days of the year, like Mumbai or Singapore. It’s an added bonus if bag purchases count towards quota bags in your country.
